Family Law Valuations / ApportionmentsBusiness / Professional Practice Valuation
About Business Valuation Our appraisers value the business or professional practice to the standards of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and the Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA) and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Our valuation experts consider the income approach, asset approach and market approach in reaching their value conclusion. They employ business valuation methods, such as the excess earnings method to value goodwill in the business appraisal. A business or professional practice is generally a "marital asset" in a marital dissolution (or "community asset" according to Family Law in some states). If the business was started before the marriage, the marital property may be calculated by the Van Camp or Periera formulas. We appraise the business value for the sale or purchase of the business or professional practice. We appraise the fair market value of a business for gift, estate and inheritance taxes, employing appropriate Revenue Rulings such as RR 59-60. A business may also be valued to determine the damages in a business lost profits case. Our business valuation services are provided to attorneys, mediators, arbitrators, accounting professionals and business owners. Our expert witnesses provide expert testimony to support our valuation. Contact us Pricing
